Max Shred – Inferno – Fire Alarm Level 4 (1st time)

Yesterday, I completed day 4 of Max shred and I was able to complete the Fire Alarm level 4 for the first time. I was ecstatic because I was able to complete the rounds after failing them for the first time.

I admit that I was more confident in the exercises this time around. The rounds consisted of skater hops, push-ups, squats, and pull-ups.

What did I learn from completing the rounds?

In level 4, you can complete the reps as quickly as you can and use the remaining time to rest. Since I know I am stronger doing push-ups and squats, I was able to complete the required reps in less than 40 seconds, which gave me 20 seconds to recover for the next exercise.

If you are completing the reps in exactly a minute, you won’t have the energy to go to the next exercise. (Although, that is what Jeff recommends in level 5).

The reps decline over the course of the workout.

This is another big thing. Level 4 starts off with 3 sets of 30 reps to be done in less than 1 minute. But then, the reps decline to 25, 20 and then 15.

In my opinion, if you can get through the first 3 sets, you will be able to complete level 4. If not, you will need to drop down to Fire Alarm level 3.

Being lighter in weight is helping.

I am still losing weight, which is making it easier for me to do the repetitions and sets. I can say that it is much easier to conduct the exercises at 77kg compared to the 87kg that I was at last year.

What are the results that I’m seeing?

It’s only been a few days into the program, but I am noticing that there’s more fat loss occurring in my body. For example, I am noticing how the fat around my stomach is going in. This is surprising me since I haven’t done any specific fat burning exercises for the abs.

I have also noticed that the other areas of my body seem to be losing fat at different rates. For example, my chest has very little fat. The stomach and love handles are decreasing. But the gut area at the front seems to be the last bit to go.

I know that if I remain consistent with what I am doing, I will get rid of the fat down there. The last time I measured that area, it said that the body fat was around 23% in that specific area.

I have my new goal, which is to get to 75kg lean. I am also working towards reducing my body fat to 10% or below.

I will keep you posted on my progress.
